LGU-CATARMAN, the capital town of the Province of Northern Samar bags the Outstanding FNRI-MRP Technology Adaptor Award under the Small Scale Category and the 2nd prize of the Technology Implementor Award under the LGU Category in the recently concluded 2018 DOST-FNRI KABALIKAT Achievement Award Rites held at CHANTARA FUNCTION HALL, DUSIT THANI MANILA HOTEL, AYALA CENTER, MAKATI CITY on July 27, 2018.

 

Of more than One Thousand (1,000) LGU Implementors and Thirty-Three (33) adaptors in the small scale category throughout the country who joined the contest, LGU-CATARMAN was awarded the Outstanding Technology Adaptor and 2nd prize of the Technology Implementor respectively. This made LGU-CATARMAN the only grand slam winner from among the participating LGUs.

 

The Outstanding FNRI-MRP TECHNOLOGY ADAPTOR AWARD consist of a crystal plaque with the citation signed by the FNRI Director and a cash prize of P200,000.00, while the 2nd PRICE of the FNRI-MRP LGU IMPLEMENTOR AWARD likewise consist of a crystal plaque and a cash reward of Php300,000.00.

 

In attendance to receive the twin awards were, Hon. Clarissa D.Bonsol- Vice Mayor of LGU-CATARMAN in behalf of Hon. Francisco C. Rosales, Jr. Mayor of LGU-CATARMAN who was not able to attend the awarding ceremony due to a prior commitment in the LGU, Dr. Myrna T. Lucero, MNAO and Supervising Manager of the Catarman Complementary Food Production Center and two (2) of her staff Gina Borilla and Violita Baguipo.

 

The KABALIKAT (Kabalikat ng LipunansaKalusuganpang Nutrisyon at Teknolohiya) Achievement Award is an annual program of DOST-FNRI which aims to recognize and award implementors and adaptors of DOST-FNRI Technologies.

 

Effective implementation of nutrition intervention strategy called the DOST-PINOY and the steady rise of the production and sales of Catarman Complementary Food Production Center-the producer of DOST-FNRI developed Complementary Food Blend with the Label “Monrise” under the present administration of Mayor Francisco C. Rosales, Jr. nailed the twin awards. The Complementary Food Production Center is located at Brgy. Old Rizal, Catarman, N. Samar.
